Zimbabwe has been under lockdown since March 30, 2020.
Many people in the country live from hand to mouth and in unregulated working conditions. There is almost nothing left from their savings. Since people can no longer work due to the curfew, whole families are starving.
The ROKPA Support Network (RSN) continues to distribute food to particularly destitute people. The distribution is carried out partly by volunteers, partly by the medical contact points in Harare and Chitungwiza. The food parcels are in the meantime packed directly by the supplier, thus allowing the beneficiaries to transport and unpack the food parcels more easily.
There is hope that some economic sectors will reopen in the year to come and that people who could not work during the lockdown will be able to return to work.
