Girls and Women: The project sponsorship with leverage
Experience in development cooperation proves that the strengthening of women and girls has a broadly positive impact on society as a whole. Therefore it is ROKPA’s concern to involve more female beneficiaries.
Since 1996, ROKPA has been operating a workshop with 10 seamstresses in Boudhanath, Kathmandu. All are mothers from the poorest backgrounds. Through ROKPA, they have learned the artisanal production of textiles over the years and receive a regular wage. ROKPA takes pride in this ‘social business’ project which is self-sustaining and distributes profits that will benefit other people in need.
