The ROKPA Hospitality Vocational Training in Kathmandu, Nepal was launched today. Young people will acquire the necessary skills for a successful entry into the hotel business in a one-year apprenticeship. The training targets in particular at young people who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend a certified vocational training.
In the pilot year already the demand exceeded the apprenticeships – 32 young people between 20-30 years, thereof 16 women were selected among the applicants and begin their training today. Participants in all 3 courses of study – food production, food and beverage service, room division – also receive a joint basic training in English and professional skills.
Students who have attained the required skill levels will receive a government-approved certificate by GATE College and a certificate by EHLsmile association in Switzerland.
